The breakfeast buffet is terrible.....
The location is very good. It's close to the old town (15 min. walk) and the main shopping district. If you are into gambling, it's right in the middle of the city gambling field...
First morning (around 08.00), no hot water. Quite frustrating. Second morning no problem. The bathtub was leaking on the floor though.
Location and facility are very good.
The staff is unwilling to fix any problem and most of them do not speak or understand any language other than Bulgarian. When I complained about the bed, they put a piece of plywood under the mattress which made the situation worse. When I complained about the shower, they told me that as long as there was water coming out of the shower it would be ok. They changed my room 4 times and all of them had the same problem. In one of them, the shower head would spray water towards the ceiling and out of the bathtub, and they could not see a problem with that. They also do not believe in shower curtains. The shower has a glass next to it that actually funnels the water to the floor. The entire bathroom gets flooded after a 4 minute shower.
The staff, once you get to know them a little bit, come out of their shell and are quite lovely. If Novotel were to make an investment in them and swap them into more developed operations then they would benefit. It has an excellent foundation on which to become one of the leading hotels in Eastern Europe.
I found the bed uncomfortable (like many other reviewers), but I still slept well: definately not a five star bed. Breakfast was provided, which added to the value of the stay, but it was nothing special, unless you're German and eat a lot of salami. The internet, while free, was painfully slow unless you are in the lobby. Most five star hotels allow use of thie facilities such as the gym and pool at no cost. The minimal 12 and 7 Levra charge seemed a bit silly. No irons were provided, but I was invited to use the housemaid's iron and board nearby. and that's where the new matresses are kept!!!!!! Pity they're not in the rooms.
Very nice personal
There is a lot of spiders around the windows on the exterior.Inside of a room there is only a couple of them but...don't forget the windows opened when you get out of the room if you don't want to be the new spider man :))
This hotel is just perfect for all type of travelers. It may be more expensive than others but, it is worth all the extra cent you pay. The rooms are very clean, food is very good, the staff very warm and speak good english and the parking is just super. We travelled with two kids 1year & 3year, the hotel offers a fantastic playground and it is 5 minutes on foot from a beautiful park. We stayed overnight during a road trip and would definitely use it again. So far one of the best hotels in the Balkans
I liked the new design of the hotel, the polite staff and the ability I had to do different sports (bowling, swimming, fitness).
That I had to pay for the swimming pool and fitness eventhough I was a guest of the Hotel.
I liked peace, commodity,
everything is ok
Enough parking availalbe
Rooms do not equal Novotel standard in Central Europe
The rooms were a decent size and the hotel itself had pleasant staff and a nice atmosphere. The beauty salon staff were professional and welcoming (despite the language barrier) and the Four Seasons restaurant on site served delicious food for a very reasonable price. A short walk from the hotel took us to old Plovdiv which enabled us to experience the city in the short time we were there. The underground car park offered reassurance and meant that we did not have to unpack all our bags from the car which was an added bonus.
Luxury hotel, close to the Centar of the city, with beautiful spa Centar
A lot of noise from air-conditioning
good location - easy to be found (you will not more than 10 minutes to get there from motorway) and close to the centre of the town
big and rather anonimous, not the newest interior, poor breakfast
breakfast is only from 7am, the sauna costs 6eur and works till 9pm only. the bed is too soft and low quality
As always during socialist times - the entrance is "marbelous". The restaurant "four seasons" is one of the best.
The room is ugly, dirty - the carpet sticks when you walk on it. Looks like socialist time - the refrigerator must be from the 80s. around the window are all over water staints. Non-smoking is not given around the entire floor. For the price of 140 Euro is it unworthy to use this hotel again.
It's always about feeling at home when you arrive in this hotel. Very friendly and competent staff, a unique lobby hall with its attached relaxing Vienna Cafe, Bar corner and meeting spots. A great swimming pool with Sauna and Spa and a bowling at a lower level, providing all you need for just a bit relaxing. Rooms are spacious and offer all you need.
The fact that on sunday the swimming pool and Spa was closed. This was a real deception.
